Privacy notice

Last updated 17 October 2026

This notice explains what happens to the information you give us when you contact AOS Wholesale through this website, by email or by phone. We supply honey to businesses only.

Who we are

OBSIDIANW Limited is the controller of your personal data.

What we collect

Only what you choose to send us. Through the quotation form, that is:

  • your name, business email address and, if you give it, your telephone number;
  • your company name, company website and country, if you give them;
  • the requirement itself: variety, quantity, packaging, frequency, delivery location, date required and any notes you add.

If you email or phone us, we keep the details you give us in that conversation.

What you must give us. Only your email address, the variety and the quantity are required, because without them we cannot answer; every other field is marked optional. There is no legal or contractual obligation to give us any of it. Please do not include health or other sensitive information: we do not need it.

Our web host records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to keep the site secure and working; we do not use them to identify you. To limit repeated form submissions, the form handler keeps a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for one hour.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It uses no analytics, advertising, tracking or social media tools, and loads nothing from other websites: fonts and images are served from our own site. There is therefore nothing to accept or decline. If that changes, this section will be updated before any cookie is used, and you will be asked for consent wherever the law requires it.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation. Our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and managing commercial relationships, or, where you act for yourself, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To supply and invoice an order, if one follows: performance of a contract, and our legal obligations for tax, accounting and food traceability records.
  • To keep the website secure (server logs): our legitimate interest in protecting the site.

The legitimate interest we rely on is running a wholesale business: answering the trade buyers who contact us and keeping a record of what was quoted. We have weighed it against your interests; the data is what you chose to send, used only to reply, and you can object at any time. We do not rely on consent for any of this processing.

We do not add you to a mailing list and do not send marketing. If that ever changes we will ask for your consent first, you will be able to withdraw it at any time, and every message will let you opt out.

Who receives it

We do not sell your data. It is seen only by our wholesale team and by:

  • the service that delivers the form to us: Resend, Inc. (United States);
  • our web host, Hostinger (European Union), which runs this site, the code that receives its forms, and its server logs;
  • our email provider and our professional advisers where needed;
  • public authorities, where the law requires it, for example food-safety traceability.

Transfers outside the UK

Data held in the European Union is covered by the UK’s adequacy regulations for the EEA. Data held by Resend, Inc. (United States) is protected by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted from our inbox and any copies 12 months after our last contact. Records relating to an order are kept for six years after it ends, as required for tax and food-traceability purposes. Data protection requests and complaints, and our replies, are kept for two years after they are closed.

Your rights, requests and complaints

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. You can also complain to us about how we have handled it. There is no charge.

  1. Send your request or complaint with the form below, or by email to sales@aoswholesale.example.
  2. We acknowledge it straight away by email with a reference number, and always within 30 days.
  3. We may ask you to confirm your identity, or for details we need to find your data. Our search will be reasonable and proportionate.
  4. We reply in full within one month. If a request is complex, we may extend this by up to two further months, and we will tell you why within the first month.
  5. A complaint is looked into by someone who was not involved in what you are complaining about, and we tell you the outcome and what we have done.

Used only to handle this request. We may ask you to confirm your identity.

Complaining to the regulator

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commission (formerly the Information Commissioner’s Office): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113. We would like the chance to put things right first, but you do not have to come to us before going to them.

If you are in the European Union

We supply buyers in the Republic of Ireland, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation also applies to data we receive from people in the EU. Your rights are the same, and you can also complain to the data protection authority where you live, in Ireland the Data Protection Commission: dataprotection.ie.
